Our Heritage

Hacienda Santa Rosa has been lovingly nurtured by generations of the García family. Under the stewardship of Rosa María García, the estate upholds the high standards and pioneering spirit of Isidro García Mercedes. Here, sustainable practices and a deep respect for nature have allowed our farm to flourish, hosting over 800 animals—from cows and bulls to chickens, pheasants, and horses—that have long been integral to our identity.

Awarded for our exceptional Brahman cattle, as well as for our outstanding milk and meat production at the Feria Ganadera, our legacy is one of excellence, tradition, and a commitment to the land.

Isidro García Mercedes

Born on May 15, 1924, in La Vereda, Joba Arriba, was a visionary entrepreneur whose impact on the Dominican Republic's agroindustry and tourism sectors is profound and enduring. With over 67 years of experience in business, he was instrumental in the development of cocoa cultivation, dairy and meat cattle farming, and the establishment of several successful hotels in Puerto Plata.

A man of remarkable character, Don Isidro was known for his affability, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his community. He was a great conversationalist and a loyal friend, embodying the spirit of solidarity and support for those around him. His legacy includes the establishment of three major hotels in the Playa Dorada tourist project, showcasing his commitment to the growth of the region.

Isidro García was not only a successful businessman but also a devoted family man. He prioritized the education of his six children, ensuring they became professionals in their own right. His humility, philanthropy, and dedication to his employees earned him deep respect and admiration from all who knew him.

Don Isidro passed away on February 1, 2007, leaving behind a remarkable legacy that continues to inspire future generations. His contributions to the agroindustry and tourism have left an indelible mark on Puerto Plata, and his name is forever etched in the history of the region.
